Branded Experiences: How We Recreated Silverstone’s Lap of Lights Inside ReadySet

One example is Silverstone’s Lap of Lights, where we rebranded the ReadySet platform to create an experience that felt like a dedicated, event-specific app from the moment players entered.
What Is a Branded Experience?
A Branded Experience is a fully customised version of the ReadySet app, designed to reflect a specific event or brand identity.
Players download the ReadySet app as usual. When they enter a unique event code, the entire interface switches to a dedicated design theme linked to that code. From that moment on, the experience feels like a standalone, branded application.
This includes visual and functional elements such as colours, logos, typography, avatars, map layout, and overall UI structure.
From the player’s perspective, there is no visible platform layer. What they experience is the event’s own digital product.
Lap of Lights at Silverstone
For Silverstone’s Lap of Lights, branding was a core part of the experience. The event had a strong visual identity, and the digital layer needed to match the physical environment.
Using a design theme connected to the event code, we rebranded the entire experience to align with Lap of Lights. Colours, typography, logos, map layout, and visual tone were adapted to create a seamless connection between the venue and the digital interaction.
The result was an experience that felt purpose-built for Silverstone, without requiring a separate app build, App Store approval, or ongoing maintenance.
How Branded Experiences Work
Branded Experiences are theme-based and activated through an event code. Once the code is entered, the app applies the selected theme across the entire experience.
This allows us to customise:
- Colours and visual hierarchy
- Logos and brand assets
- Typography and iconography
- Avatars and player visuals
- Map layout and navigation
- UI components and overall layout
Because the branding is modular, it can be reused, refined, or adapted for future events without rebuilding the product from scratch.
Why Not Build a Standalone App?
From our experience, building a dedicated event app is rarely the most efficient option.
Standalone apps are expensive to develop, time-consuming to launch, and difficult to maintain. They also introduce friction for users, who are asked to download an app that may only be used once.
Branded Experiences offer a practical alternative. Clients get the look and feel of a custom-built app, while benefiting from an existing, proven platform. This dramatically reduces cost, risk, and delivery time.
When a Branded Experience Makes Sense
Branded Experiences are particularly effective for large live events, festivals, brand activations, and destination experiences where visual identity plays an important role.
They are also well-suited for recurring events or formats that need to be reused over time. A single branded setup can be activated multiple times, across different locations or seasons.
For clients who want impact without unnecessary complexity, Branded Experiences strike a strong balance between flexibility and control.
